The benefits of using pre-aged and weathered wood

If you are looking to transform the exterior of your home with some beautiful wooding cladding, or are looking to upgrade your garden with a stunning new wooden decking, then there are plenty of different types of wood out there that you can choose from. However which one is right for you? As a natural material, timber changes over time and after a few years of being exposed to the elements, it will typically look very different to when it was first installed. This is a natural process and does not affect the durability or performance of the cladding, but if you have a set landscaping image in mind the changing colours between sections of wood can detract from your overall goal. That is why we offer a pre-aged, weathered look Siberian Larch Cladding and Decking option. The wood has been treated with a non-toxic, grey-pigmented reactive agent to ensure that the timber has a more uniform look and will remain more consistent compared to untreated timber. As soon as the timber has been exposed to elements such as oxygen, sunlight and water, it will begin the greying process and create a uniform colour change across the entire cladding or decking. You can help speed this process up even further by washing the required areas with water. Our pre-aged, weathered look Siberian Larch Cladding and Decking will not need any further treatment applied to it to make it more grey or uniform, the weathering look will typically occur within a week of exposure. This will leave you with an equally coloured and beautiful decking.
