Bespoke and painted
Bespoke and painted timber cladding, made to order in 5-7 working days
When stock sizes and standard colours will not do, we make cladding to order: milled to your profile, in your species, painted in your colour. We keep the process short so your project is not waiting on boards.
Bespoke and painted orders are usually ready in 5-7 working days, and many of our stock products are available for next-day delivery. We confirm the exact lead time with your quote. Free samples are available so you can check the profile and colour first.
What we can make to order
- Bespoke profiles: your own shadow gap, shiplap, tongue and groove, rainscreen or board-on-board profile, from a drawing or a sample.
- Painted cladding in black, white, greys and made-to-match colours.
- Your choice of species, such as larch, Douglas fir, cedar or thermally modified timber.
- Bespoke skirting, architrave and trim milled to match.
- Specific sizes and lengths, to reduce waste on site.
Why speed matters, and how we keep it
Bespoke work is often the slowest part of a build. We keep it quick by taking a clear specification at the start, confirming the lead time in your quote, and keeping you updated until the order is ready.
- Send your profile, species, colour, sizes and quantity, or call 0161 504 0011.
- We quote and confirm the lead time, usually 5-7 working days.
- Order a free sample first if you want to check the colour.
- We make, paint and dispatch your order.
Copying or designing a profile
The easiest way to specify a profile is to send a short sample of the existing one, or a scaled drawing with the board width, thickness, joint and any rebates. Matching an existing building, such as an extension to an older property, is a common reason for bespoke milling. Say whether the board is for inside or outside, since that affects the species and finish.
Choosing a painted colour
Dark colours show the grain least and look strongest against glazing, while lighter colours need more care over surface preparation. Tell us the colour reference, such as a RAL or a paint brand name, or send a sample, and we will advise.
Screen colours differ from painted ones, so check a sample in daylight against the other materials on the building. Touch up cut ends and fixing heads with matching paint when you install.
Sizes, lengths and waste
Ordering lengths that suit your wall heights cuts waste and saves time on site. Allow about 10% extra for cutting and mistakes on a standard job. Say if you need all boards the same length, or a mix.
