This American White Ash planed square edge architrave is machined from solid premium North American hardwood, top joinery FAS grade, with clean, planed square edges for a minimalist look, easy to finish or detail on site. Each pack contains 3 lengths of 20 x 68mm x 2.4m, giving 7.2 linear metres of architrave to frame doors, windows and openings.

American White Ash is a pale, creamy-white hardwood with a bold, straight grain and a clean, contemporary look. It is hard, strong and shock-resistant, and it takes oils, stains, lacquers and paint beautifully. FAS (First and Seconds) is the top grade of North American hardwood: long, clear, largely knot-free boards chosen for fine joinery.
How much architrave do I need?
A standard internal door needs two legs of about 2.1m and one head of about 1m for each face. Each 2.4m length covers one leg, so a pack of 3 frames around 1 door face (both sides of a door need two faces).
How to fit architrave
Acclimatise the lengths indoors for 48 hours. Mark a 3 to 5mm reveal on the door lining, cut 45 degree mitres at the head, then fix with pins or nails into the lining and wall, pre-drilling hardwood to avoid splitting. Glue the mitres, fill, sand lightly and finish.
Finishing
Supplied kiln dried, factory sanded and sealed, ready for your chosen oil, wax, stain, lacquer or paint. Hardwoods such as ash and oak look superb with a clear hard wax oil or lacquer that shows off the grain.
